WITH the boom in the real estate sector coupled with high demand for houses, Nationwide Properties has embarked on its second phase of putting up a residential estate.

Shellomith Wanjohi, the marketing manager, said this phase, located in Butabika Hill near Kampala, will have 47 Swahili-style detached houses of four and five bedrooms.

“The estate will have a commercial centre with a private safe road network, community centres, nursery school, offices, leisure complex with recreational facilities and a modern mother-and-infant-care hospital,” she said.

Nationwide completed the first phase of 83 units recently.

At the end of the project, Wanjohi said, about 1400 homes will have been added to Kampala’s housing stock in a professionally planned residential estate.

Set to be completed by early 2011, the estate is on 150 acres of prime land and 9 km from the centre.

“Our mission is to create quality, affordable and organised estate development for Ugandans of all classes,” she said.
