ABBEY Ariong has pledged to return darts to its past glory in his second spell at the helm of the Uganda Darts Association.

The Kobs Darts Club chairman edged incumbent Mike Ezua 5-4 in Jinja on Saturday to return to the chair he had voluntariry relinquished two years ago.

Ariong stood down for Ezua at the 2008 elections. He is credited for lifting the game from the past wrangles.

In the elections held at Guest Villa, Kurais Walusimbi (Nile Darts Club) was retained as vice chairman while David Tabaro also made a come-back as secretary.

Gerald Khosam (Kobs) and Medadi Byamukama (Bank of Uganda) retained their posts as assistant secretary and treasurer respectively.

The assembly also admitted army side UPDF, Nebbi and Abim districts.

In a related development, Jimmy Dheyongera remained chairman for Eastern Region Darts Association.

Dheyongera was unanimously retained alongside his entire executive during the regional assembly held in Jinja yesterday.
