The clubs have staged the tournament in response to Uganda Golf Union’s (UGU) appeal for assistance to thousands of people displaced by the March 3 landslides that left hundreds dead.

UGU secretary Johnson Omollo said that Lugazi, Jinja, Tororo, Arua, Mbarara, Fort Portal, Kinyara, Kampala and Entebbe golf clubs will hand over of their collections to UGU.

“Golf has often responded to such causes and I hope to get a positive response from the clubs. Bududa needs everybody’s support,” Omollo stated.
