UGANDA Olympic Committee under the branch of Olympique Africa Foundation is set to host the second edition of the Daimler Cup April 17 in Busia at the Foundations’ base.

The annual event has attracted 300 children who will be divided into ten teams from the neighbouring areas as a way of attracting young rural people to their native land through football.

KCC Leopards eye inter-cities
After dominating and eventually lifting the inaugural Sprite UCU Invitational basketball tournament unbeaten in five games, KCC Leopards added one more trophy to their closet and sent out an early warning to the other teams ahead of next week’s Inter-cities tournament in Mombasa, Kenya.

“We are going to play against tough teams from cities in the region. We are preparing seriously because we want to make it to the finals,” said coach Timothy Odeke.

Zziwa lands Salou invitation
Africa’s number four draughts player Frank Zziwa has landed an invitation to participate in the 13th international Salou Open in Barcelona, Spain, May 23-31. “I will be attending with Africa’s number three player Bruno Fopa. We are the only Africans at this tournament,” Zziwa said. Close to 150 participants will take part in the event.
