He has appeared in the press with the prized machine and laughed at his detractors because he had finally proven a point by importing the monster vehicle. But it will be a while before fans get to see singer Bebe Cool’s Humvee on the road. And that is not because he is currently walking with crutches. Apparently, Bebe has not yet cleared all the dues he owes the importer of the vehicle. He also wants it to have a customised registration number, which is likely to cost more money. We are told the singer has had to throw in his old Bafudde Range Rover to top up, but not even that is helping much. If only he was not bedridden!
Masembe’s late end of year fete
Is it never too late for some people to organise end of year parties? Joseph Masembe, of Mase Consultants, an events management and PR firm, ended his year on Wednesday evening. The towering Mase, as he is fondly called, threw a bash at his Bukoto offices and had an answer for all who asked him about the belated party. He said he was celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, an annual holiday celebrated on March 17. St. Patrick was the most recognised patron saint of Ireland. The day is associated with people drinking Guinness, a beer that originated in Ireland. Mase promotes the Guinness brand and there was plenty of it. But we never saw any of his Irish friends. So, Mase, were you really celebrating St. Patrick’s Day or was it just another PR move?
Video rain makes Juliana sick
Singer Julianna Kanyomozi caught a fever while shooting her latest video, Kantambule Nawe, in the rain. One of the cameramen told us a water tank was used to spill water to create an illusion of rain. However, Juliana, who was drenched by the water, caught a fever thereafter. That, of course, was temporary and the singer is up and bouncing again. The video, whose quality is as good as most of her other videos, is getting a lot of airplay on the local TV channels.
