Mukono Bishop set to retire

THE Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Eria Paul Luzinda, on Sunday bid farewell to the Christians in the diocese. Luzinda, who will clock 65 years on September 17, is set to retire on September 19.

THE Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Eria Paul Luzinda, on Sunday bid farewell to the Christians in the diocese. Luzinda, who will clock 65 years on September 17, is set to retire on September 19.

The Church of Uganda constitution stipulates that when one clocks 65, they retire. The bishop made the revelation during Easter services at St. Philips and St. Andrews cathedrals.

Luzinda became bishop of Mukono on July 14, 2002. During his term, he became known for criticising corrupt leaders in the Government. Luzinda thanked God for enabling him serve the diocese for eight years.
