EX-PROFESSIONAL golfer Stephen Kasaija has been named captain of the national team that departs today for the Africa Zone VI Championship in Gaborone, Botswana.

EX-PROFESSIONAL golfer Stephen Kasaija has been named captain of the national team that departs today for the Africa Zone VI Championship in Gaborone, Botswana.

The event tees off on April 11.
Kasaija replaces Emma Opio who has been captain for the last two years.

Uganda Golf Union (UGU) secretary Johnson Omollo said that the team of eight will take advantage of the Botswana Amateur Open this weekend to warm up for the Zone VI event.

Entebbe’s Silver Opio and Fort Portal’s Ronald Rugumayo and Adolf Muhumuza are the new team members.

Jinja Sports Club’s Fred Wanzala, Said Mawa, Emma Opio and Ian Odokonyero complete the squad.
