ABOUT 128 students were awarded postgraduate diplomas at Uganda Management Institute’s Mbarara wing last week.

Of the 128 candidates, seven graduated in procurement and supplies chain management, 18 in financial management, 33 in human resources management, 38 in public administration and 30 in project planning.

This was the first UMI graduation ceremony to be held in an outreach centre.

UMI chancellor Florence Mugasha urged the management and council to improve service delivery by attracting, retaining and developing competent, high- quality and well-motivated staff.

She said the graduates are mandated to develop the management capacity of both the private and public sectors.
