NILE Breweries has contributed sh20m towards the reconstruction of the Kasubi tombs.

The team, led by James Mulwana, the board chairman, and Onapito Ekomoloit, the corporate affairs director, handed over the cheque to JB Walusimbi, the prime minister of Buganda, at Bulange in Kampala recently.

“We are here to join fellow Ugandans to show our sympathy following the destruction of the royal tombs,” Ekomoloit said.

“The breweries is no stranger to Buganda. We have always supported the kingdom especially the Kabaka’s end-of-year party known as Enkuuka,” he added.

Nick Jenkinson, the managing director, said the burning of the tombs, which were a heritage site, was a loss to the world.
