TWO Kenyan students are detained at Bombo Police Station in Luwero district over a brawl in which one of them was stabbed several times. Wellington Mulwa and Purity Kerubo are in detention following a Friday night fight at Mulwa’s residence.

Mulwa, a third-year business administration student at Bugema University, was allegedly stabbed by Kerubo, an information technology student in her first year. According to sources, Mulwa lent Kerubo sh120,000, which she failed to pay.

“Kerubo on Friday evening went toMulwa’s home to inform him that she would not be able to pay back on the agreed date,” the source stated. He reportedly bought her beer, which she accepted.

“Mulwa then attempted to rape her but she injected him with a substance which weakened him,” the source said.

Drank from the beer, Kerubo fell asleep inMulwa’s room.

“When they woke up, Mulwa tried to rape Kerubo again and in the fight that ensued, she stabbed him with a knife,” narrated the source.

Students in nearby rooms heard the noise and rushed to the room, ending the scuffle.

The Police detained them as investigations into the alleged rape and assault began. This is the second incident in recent months where Kenyan students studying in Uganda have fought fight.

In February, Jane Nyiha, a student at Kampala International University, stabbed her lover, David Musunga Ivita, to death during a quarrel.
