ANGLICAN Church leaders in Kinkizi Diocese have asked the area MP, Chris Baryomunsi, to apologise to them or else be banned from visiting their churches.

This was resolved recently in the diocesan council meeting at Holy Cross Guest House in Kanungu District.

The decision came after Baryomunsi reportedly said he was funding development projects in the diocese, which made him poor. Without his support, the diocese would collapse, he reportedly said.

It is alleged that the MP made the remarks while addressing the parents of Kirima Community Secondary School in the district on March 12 and on a local radio.

The council observed that Baryomunsi cannot claim any development under the church because he does not belong to any church organisation.

Baryomunsi said he would not apologise claiming he never mentioned the church in his utterances both at Kirima Community School and on radio.
