BANK of Baroda has opened its first off-site automated teller machine (ATM) in the drive to promote growth through non-branch installations aimed at <br>increasing market share.

BANK of Baroda has opened its first off-site automated teller machine (ATM) in the drive to promote growth through non-branch installations aimed at
increasing market share.

“Considering the growing significance of electronic channels of service delivery in the banking industry, establishment of an off-site ATM is a strategic cost-effective approach in attaining market penetration,” Apollo Obbo, the director for commercial banking at the Bank of Uganda stated.

Obbo was launching the service at Nakumatt Oasis Mall in Kampala recently.
“It a strategy to expand and bring convenient banking services closer to the customers,” Obbo added.

He commended the bank for accomplishing the implementation of a cost-effective expansion strategy.
Obbo noted that Bank of Baroda has taken the concept of customer service as a strategic tool in enhancing business growth, thus addressing the expectation of its customers.

He applauded the bank for improving infrastructure base in terms of renovation programme of its branches countrywide.

“In a big strategy in implementing its master plan, the bank is refurbishing all its branches across the country, with comprehensive refurbishment of Kampala, Mbale, Iganga and Jinja branches,” Obbo observed.

Pramod Gupta, the managing director, commended the customers for their support and loyalty to the bank, which he said had resulted into continuous growth and expansion.

“We don’t wish to stop here, but to continue with expanding our quality service delivery to our esteemed customers,” Gupta explained during the launch ceremony.
