BUNAMWAYA second choice goalkeeper Godwin Bbule was among the first causalities as FUFA’s technical committee trimmed the U-19 team due to start residential training on Monday.

Twenty-five players will assemble at Kisubi for the final round of training ahead of the “ Football for You U-19 Championship.”

The event is due May 17-27 in Cairo.
The winner will walk off with $20,000 (sh40m).

FUFA officials said the Cairo event will be used to prepare the team for the Africa Junior championships qualifying round. Uganda will also face Egypt later this year.

Bbule was in the original squad of 30 players that were undergoing non residential training.

The player was dropped in favour of KCC’s Franco Oringa, Victors’ Ali Kimera and Joseph Ssebuliba of Police.

FUFA technical director Asumani Lubowa said the dropped players will be given another chance in future.
“It is not that those we have dropped are bad, it is just that we are limited by finance,” Lubowa said.
