FORMER director of rugby at the Kenya Rugby Football Union, Joe Onsando, has advised Victoria coach Sam Ahamya to work on the defence if they are to defeat Cheetahs in this weekend’s semi-final of the Bamburi Rugby Super Series in Nairobi.

Onsando, also a former Harlequins rugby club chairman, said Victoria has the talent to win the tournament but they need to plot how to counter the fast running Cheetahs.

“The Victoria defence must be on alert to counter Kenya’s faster and experienced players like Nato Simiyu, Innocent Simiyu and Vincent Mose,” Onsando warned.

“I know they played this game (against Rhinos) knowing that they had qualified but they need to sharpen their defence,” the brother to Rugby Cranes coach Ham Onsando noted.

He observed that the quality of players in the team can spur Victoria to victory if they take quick decisions to execute the opportunities.

Uganda teams are sponsored by Kampala Coach, medical service provider AAR, insurance firm UAP Insurance and communications provider BroadBand.
