<b>12 farmers get goats</b><br>MBARARA-A total of 12 farmers in Rwanyamahembe sub-county on Friday received 161 goats valued at over sh15m through the NAADS programme. The farmers’ leader, John Bagaiga, advised them to ensure proper management of the goats in order to make profits.

Ecological toilets open
KABAROLE-Joint Efforts to Save the Environment, a local NGO, has launched ecological toilets to promote hygiene. Grace Kanweri, an advocacy officer, said the toilets have been introduced to recycle human excreta into manure for agriculture.

‘Improve UPE’
BUSHENYI-Prof Emmanuel Karooro, the Ankole University project deputy vice-chancellor, has called for better Universal primary education to improve the quality of education. Speaking at Gyeya Preparatory School’s thanksgiving ceremony on Tuesday, Karooro said teachers should balance academics and social etiquette.

KABAROLE-The largest number of former soldiers has been registered in Fort Portal . The regional army spokesperson, Capt. Robert Kamara, attributed the large turn up at the Boma grounds to the district’s great contribution to the NRM liberation war.

RDC stops land title
KABALE-The land board has halted processing a land title for Ali Karama, a Muslim leader. He is accused of fraudulently acquiring the lease on three plots of land. Cox Nyakairu, the resident district commissioner, said this will allow investigations to proceed.
