THREE foreign hockey experts, Jodi Murphy, Jackie Raithel and Jenna Lucido from the United States are conducting a week-long training and coaching clinic at Lugogo.
The female experts arrived in the country last week with the aim of boosting women hockey and training umpires on new skills in the sport.
The programme started on Monday with a two-day clinic for kids and will end on Sunday with a clubs tournament.
“The programme is going on well and the turn up has been quite impressive. It gives me hope that the sport is to move to another level in the short run,†the Uganda Hockey Federation publicity secretary Joshua Opolot said at Lugogo yesterday.
The course is organised by the local hockey federation and the Youth Sport Uganda, another local hockey initiative.
