A team of Electoral Commission (EC) Officials yesterday visited Bebe Cool and his wife Zuena at Kadic Hopsital in Bukoto, who were involved in a road accident in Nakasongola on Wednesday.

The group, which included Tom Baruku, the commissioner for the central region and Molly Kamukama, the head of training and voters education, gave the couple sh500,000, a card and flowers.

Baruku thanked Bebe Cool for his commitment to promoting the national voter education campaign despite using a wheelchair.

Bebe Cool and Zuena were travelling to Kampala from Lira where they had been mobilising residents to take part in the voter registration exercise.
He vowed to return to the stage immediately after an operation next month on his legs.

“I have to go for another operation so that I can get back into shape and continue with my music career. My travel documents are being processed and I will leave next month if all goes well,” he said.

Zuena sustained complications on her forehead and pain in her neck. Dr Emmanuel Mukajumbe said the couple’s condition had improved.

“They suffered soft tissue injuries and no fractures or internal injuries have been found. The parameters are normal and they will be discharged any time from now,” he said.

But he added that they would carry out more examinations on Zuena since all her injuries were on the head.

Bebe Cool said his driver Rasta Tony was transferred to Rubaga Hospital for an operation on his spinal cord.
