Uganda and Seychelles will start selling their tourism products as a joint package. David Germain, the Seychelles Tourism Board country director, said they want to work with Uganda because of its unique tourism potential.

“Together, we could put specific packages with what you have here and what we have in Seychelles. We can sell joint packages,” said Germain at a media briefing convened by the Uganda Travel Bureau (UTB) at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Monday.

Germain said the discovery of oil and special attractions like the world-famed mountain Gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, make Uganda very attractive. “We want to work more with the continent. Seychelles is now an affordable destination,” said Germain.

Pearl Hoareau, the UTB managing director, said the partnership would give Seychelles an opportunity to market Uganda on the island. “We have things that compliment one another. We need to start from somewhere,” said Hoareau.

Seychelles currently has a joint package with Cape Town in South Africa where American travelers visit both destinations in a single travel. Tourism is the mainstay of the Seychellois economy.
that also has opportunity for expatriates in education, law and medical sector. Currently the chief justice of Seychelles is a Ugandan Frederick Egonda-Ntende.
Uganda’s world class tourism attractions that include the mountain gorilla, nine national packs with the largest primates, the lush green flora and fauna attracts about 900,000 tourism arrivals annually.
Having a joint package would boost Uganda’s high end travelers who are also the big spenders.
