TIMOTHY Mudoola and Allan Musoke have to prove they deserve to be on the Rugby Cranes starting lineup again after being cleared to return for national duty.

The two are on the national 26-man squad that will battle Kenya and Zimbabwe in the Elgon and Victoria cups this month and next month respectively. The team will thereafter engage in the Confederation of Africa Rugby (CAR) Cup campaign.

“This is a big chance for Musoke and Mudoola to be reinstated in the national team again,” coach Ham Onsando observed.

The two uganda telecom players had quit the national team last year citing bias by the local rugby body as their club was docked three points in the league. This jeopardised their title ambitions.

However they later apologised and requested to be given another opportunity to represent their country.

“What they went through was bound to have an impact on them. I’ve told them to get their heads down and train hard,” Onsando added.

Mudoola led the Rugby Cranes to the 2007 CAR championship trophy in Madagascar after captain Adrian Bukenya got injured in the semi-final against Kenya .
