THE Police are treating as human sacrifice the weekend murder of two siblings in Nalumunye, a Kampala suburb.

Henry Kizito, 15, and Richard Ssemwanga, 22, were killed in what the Kampala metropolitan Police spokesperson, Henry Kalulu, described as “very chilling” murder.

A sombre mood hang in the Jomayi estates at Nalumunye when the butchered bodies of the two youth were discovered in Ayineya Muheka’s house. It is next to that of Yiga Mangadazi, the Jomayi estates owner.

Residents said the two were guarding the house and selling sugar cane, tomatoes and onions, in addition.

“They were innocent boys trying to earn a living,” Hajjat Namusoke, one of the residents, remarked.

She said the bodies were discovered by a young boy who had gone to buy tomatoes from them.

“When the boy found the stall empty, he walked towards the house and called them. When he got no response, he opened their door and found them dead,” narrated Namusoke.

He then alerted his mother, who ran to the scene and made an alarm, attracting residents.

According to Kalulu, their throats were slit open but no blood was discovered on the floor, meaning the blood was drained and taken.

“That is why we are treating this as human sacrifice,” Kalulu explained.
Muheka said the brothers wanted to rent one of his rooms but he gave it to them for free in return for guarding his house.

The youth’s mother, Margaret Nakanwagi of Lubowa, said their death was a blow to her life.

“It is my sons who were comforting me as a widow,” she said as tears rolled down her face.

Amos Kakulu and Lawrence Ssekitoleko were arrested in connection with the murder.

“We are holding them as suspects,” Kalulu said.

they are being held at Kajjansi Police station on Entebbe road, he added.

Kakulu was arrested because he was the caretaker of the house where the two were slain, while Ssekitoleko was found with a phone belonging to one of the murdered youth, Kalulu explained.
