THE opposition Forum for Democratic Change has suffered a setback in Ntungamo district, with the defection of the party’s chairperson for Ruhaama sub-county, John Barigye, to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Barigye, also the former parish chief of Kafunjo, officially crossed to the NRM on June 18.

Barigye handed over his FDC membership card to the First Lady and the MP for Ruhaama, Mrs. Janet Museveni, yesterday at her country home in Irenga, Kikoni parish, Ntungamo.

The statement said two other FDC members, Tumusime Mizs and Cripriano Kabandeze, formerly the FDC chairman of Itigo, also handed over their party membership cards to Mrs. Museveni.
