EDITOR—Schools that organise public functions should borrow a leaf from St. Mary’s Kitende. The function on July 4 celebrating the school’s tenth anniversary was a glamorous show of skill, intelligence, splendour and value for money.

The function attended by approximately 10,000 people, parking has never been as easy as it was on that day! The reception was great, with well turned out teachers and students personally attending to every guest on arrival.

In a mega tent, the mammoth audience were all comfortably seated and entertained. The venue, which was the school stadium, is a state of the art affair. It is unbelievable for a school! This, however, was not what impressed me most.

The real issues were the smartness, discipline, order and the hospitality displayed by the teachers and students alike.

We all dined and wined and I feel obliged to give credit where it is due. Kudos to the proprietor of Kitende, Mr. Lawrence Mulindwa for being so visionary.
