EDITOR—I wish to appreciate the work of the outgoing dean of students of Makerere University, Pastor John Ekudu. In particular, Ekudu was concerned by the plight of persons with disability. <br>He made sure students in that category were given rooms which were easily accessible.

He made sure students in that category were given rooms which were easily accessible.
He also ensured allowances were paid in time. In December 2006, there was a strike at the university and Police gave us six hours to have vacated the place.
Ekudu negotiated with the Police for extra time to enable his office to process our allowances so that we could travel home comfortably. He argued that this was not an ordinary end of semester and therefore we were not prepared for it. May the Almighty God be with you Pastor Ekudu.
