The squad undergoing training for the World University Woodball Championships has been beefed up with the inclusion of key players Moses Namukoye and Sophie Namudddu.

Thirty-three players in the men’s and women’s categories are training at Ndejje University ahead of the event set for Kampala.

Rev John set for major test

Fifteen countries have confirmed participation in the competition due August 22-23.

Uganda’s team Rev John Foundation is ready to take on the world at the Middle East/Africa baseball tournament now in its second day in Poland.
The team will begin action tomorrow.

Winner of the tournament that ends on Monday and has also attracted players from South Africa, Kuwait United Arab Emirates and South Africa, will qualify for the Little League World Series due in August.

Coaches clinics
Athletes in Action Group will hold two basketball clinics for men and women coaches in Kampala, August 9-12.

“We want to offer expert training to coaches because we feel that they need to know the basics of training,” Athletes in Action Group Country Director, Cyrus Muwanga explained.

A similar clinic held last year saw UCU Lady Canons coach Mande Juruni and Kyambogo Warriors Gad Eteu head to the United States for further training.
