THE caretaker of the Busoga Kingdom, Prince David Gabula Bogere, has written to premier Wilson Muwereza, asking him to convene a meeting and reconcile the different factions jostling for leadership.

THE caretaker of the Busoga Kingdom, Prince David Gabula Bogere, has written to premier Wilson Muwereza, asking him to convene a meeting and reconcile the different factions jostling for leadership.
Gabula told a press conference at Crested Crane Hotel in Jinja on Monday that he was deeply saddened by the divisions in various institutions of the kingdom.
Gabula noted about eight factions which include the Busoga clan leaders committee headed by J.B. Isabirye, the clan leaders council chaired by Mutekanga Mulinda Byansi and the office of Busoga clan heads led by James Kawuta.
Other factions are the Batimbito and Baise Ngobi princes and princesses and the clan council chaired by Girison Kitimbo.
The Kawunhe Daudi Muluuya hereditary chiefs, the Menyha Kakaire hereditary chiefs, the Alfred Mugooda as speaker of Busoga Lukiiko faction and the George Mutyabule deputy speaker of Busoga lukiiko faction are the others.
Gabula said he had received complaints from some of the groups about the inequality in sharing of the cake allotted to Busoga Kingdom from the Government and lack of information on donations received from the Government.
He asked Muwereza to account for the sh325m received from the Government.
“You, as chief administrative officer of the kingdom, owe the people of Busoga Kingdom an explanation on these matters,†Gabula said.
He also requested Muwereza to explain the whereabouts of the Kyabazinga’s vehicle, which he received from the Government on behalf of the kingdom and the sale of part of the 900 acres at Bufulubi and about 50 acres of kingdom land in Bugembe.
The premier was also asked to explain the issue of the renewal of the contract of K.K property consultants to manage kingdom properties and the kingdom radio known as Basoga Baino FM.
