ORGANISERS of the KAVC Memorial volleyball tournament have pledged to stage a much better event after getting a sh20 boost from NSSF.

ORGANISERS of the KAVC Memorial volleyball tournament have pledged to stage a much better event after getting a sh20 boost from NSSF.
The 14th edition of the annual event, also expected to feature 15 foreign entries, is slated for August 14-15 at Mandela Stadium, Namboole.
Hosts KAVC Volleyball Club received the package at a brief ceremony at the Workers House yesterday.
Speaking at the handover, the fund’s’ deputy chief marketing and communications officer Olive Lumonya said the support was in the fulfilment of her company’s social responsibility to support the development of sports in the country.
“KAVC has been instrumental in raising the standard of the game in Uganda. The founders’ tournament gives NSSF an opportunity to support the talent,†she said.
According to the organisers teams from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Ethiopia have been invited for the event.
