Politicians warned
BUSHENYI-Politicians should stop dishing out money to voters and later using it to blackmail them, a local leader has warned. Elisam Basimwaki, the LC1 chairman of Kibaare village in Bumbeire sub-county, said many people join politics to preach hatred. He was speaking at the burial of Arthur Katwarana, who was a driver on the Kasese-Mbarara highway. The district Woman MP, Mary Karooro Okurut, urged residents not to be divided along party lines.

‘Learn to analyse manifestos’
BUSHENYI-Voters should learn to challenge manifestos presented by politicians, an official of the Uganda National NGO Forum has said. Authur Larok, the director of programmes, said due to lack of awareness among citizens, many politicians make empty promises to exploit voters. He was speaking during the Ankole region manifesto consultative forum that was organised by Bushenyi District Civil Society Organisations Forum at Katungu recently.
