Angela Katatumba has finally released her, Lets go Green song and there is no doubt that it was well executed. The mid–tempo track whose theme is social awareness, implores everyone, regardless of colour sex and age to conserve the environment, hence the title.

The song is flowered with Angela’s sweet voice and fluid diction of the English language; a factor that makes the song easy on the ear.

The lyrics are just perfect with both rhyme and imagery which altogether conspire into good song-writing skills by the songstress.

Lets go green/ Keep the environment clean/Before mountains and trees start falling/and grasslands and wetlands start dying/ Lets go green; are some of the lyrics.

The song also features Keko, the new kid on the block in the Hip-Hop industry. Keko’s rap makes the song sound hip to the younger generation. This was a brilliant idea considering the fact the younger generation has a much bigger role to play in environmental conservation.

The song was recorded at Swangz Avenue Studios — you will definitely not miss that signature keyboard that is synonymous with many Swangz productions.

Lets go Green is a social awareness campaign sponsored by the British Council and Makerere University and its central role is mobilising Ugandans to preserve the environment.

Angela Katatumba is the British Council climate change Ambassador in Uganda and runs a charity organisation, For you Gulu. She has also produced a string of other songs which include, (This is) For you Gulu and I live for you.
