FORMER IBF junior middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream” Ouma gets another chance to redeem his flagging career when he fights for the North American Boxing Association middleweight title on September 25.

The boxer, based in Southern California, will face American Joey Gilbert in Nevada.

Ouma has been desperate to return since he went down against WBO/NABO/NABF light middleweight champion Vanes Martirosyan eight months ago.

So frustrated was Ouma that he had started looking at taking on former African light welterweight champion Badru “Mr Crush” Lusambya in Kampala, October.

“I have been looking for fights since my last one in January and I would do anything to get back into the ring,” Ouma said. Ouma goes into this fight with a record of 26 wins 7 loses 1 draw and 16 knockouts while Gilbert has 20 wins 2 loses and a total of 15 knock-outs.
