A family in Bobi sub-county in Gulu district is in grief after lightning struck killing their three children.
The incident occurred at Omwonya village, Paidwe- Omwonya parish.
The mother, Santa Ajok, 36, identified the dead as a 12-year-old Monica Akao, a Primary Four pupil, Omara, 11, and Winnie Akullu, 5.

Ajok recounted that the children had rushed out to remove clothes that were drying when the lightning struck.
Their father, Simon Obang, said the dead would be buried on Sunday.
This is the second time in three years lightening has killed children in Gulu.

On March 14, 2008, lightning struck killing two and injuring 27 primary school children during the district athletics championships at Pece War Memorial stadium.
