Gulu road accidents down
Two people died and 16 others were injured in 15 road accidents last month in Gulu district. The district Police officer in charge of traffic, Patrick Okoya Kaggwa, noted that there were 12 road accidents in July. He said the Police recorded 20 road accidents in June and 28 in May. Kaggwa attributed the reduction to intensive community policing of the urban population on how to use roads. He added that their next target was the rural community. The traffic boss blamed road accidents on reckless driving and speeding.

Smashed body found in house
Residents on Monday found the smashed body of a 35-year-old resident of Bar-Jere village in Akwang sub-county in Kitgum district in his house. The LC1 chairman, David Okane, identified the body as that of George Ayella. He suspects that the assailant waited for Ayella to sleep before hitting him with an axe.
