Govt told to mentor youth

Outgoing bishop of Mukono diocese Paul Luzinda has challenged religious leaders and the Government to groom the new generation of leaders.

“We would like to see young ones grow up patriotic,” he said. Luzinda sounded the call at Royal College Namugongo on Sunday, where he confirmed over 200 students in the Anglican faith.

The bishop also commissioned a multimillion building. Luzinda applauded Salama Mugabe, the headteacher, for bringing development in Buganda.

Only Police vehicle down

The Police in Luwero have no transport after their only vehicle, a Toyota double-cabin pick-up truck, crushed into a stationary lorry on Monday night.

The driver, Elias Waiswa, is said to have been returning from a private mission when the accident occurred.

The Luwero deputy district Police commander, David Kyaligonza, said on Thursday that Waiswa, who was alone in the car, sustained minor injuries. Waiswa is in hiding, according to his colleagues.
