THE national 7s team will not have any international friendly before they fly out for the Commonwealth Games.

Plans to have teams test the Ugandan outfit at the final circuit of the Hima Rugby 7s at Namboole on Saturday have failed, with Rwanda and Tanzania turning down the offer.

Rugby Cranes 7s coach John Musoke when contacted said, it was bad news for his team but he will go on with other plans of building a strong side ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

“My target is to put up a good show in India and I’m happy with the team performance in the 7s circuits so far,”Musoke stated.
Kenyan teams turned down the invitation because the Namboole circuit is on the same day they play their Mombasa Driftwood 7s tournament.

The Ugandan 12-man team in training is captained by Michael Wokorach and includes, Robert Seguya, Lenny Kikonyogo, Joel Anguyo, Scot Oluoch, Benon Kiiza, Jude Keremundu, Ambrose Kamanyire, Timothy Mudoola, Mathias Ochwo, Dan Chanowira and Lawrence Wakabi.

Meanwhile the Hima draws made yesterday has the Cranes pooled against Stallions, Rams and table leaders Impis in the preliminaries.
