AFTER five days of meetings, the Uganda Super League Limited has confirmed that Mbale-based CRO FC do not have what it takes to compete in the league and have been thrown out.

USLL board chairman Kavuma Kabenge announced yesterday that CRO was excluded from the league because they failed to meet basic requirements.

Team head coach Frank Anyau also confirmed yesterday that he had quit his post at the club.

“They (CRO FC) failed to meet requirements for our membership. We think they don’t have the capacity. The board has just met and decided that they (CRO) will not be in the league,” Kabenge said.

USLL is an umbrella company of all national super league clubs in Uganda to which a club in the top flight football competition pays membership fees of sh1m to become a shareholder in the body.

Kabenge insisted that the league will continue with 15 clubs and dismissed claims that USLL and soccer governing body FUFA were negotiating a return of Boroboro to replace CRO.

Boroboro was relegated last season but the club has since challenged the decision in courts of law saying that it was wrong.
