THE Moroto resident district commissioner, Nahaman Ojwe, has asked local leaders in Moroto and Napak districts to hunt for a group of men armed with bows and arrows.
Ojwe urged the residents to work with the security agencies in arresting the suspects by providing information.
He blamed the local leaders for the insecurity in the area.
Ojwe was speaking on Saturday at the Police grounds in Moroto during celebrations to mark the 48th Independence anniversary.
A total of 16 people have so far been killed by the men in the last 10 months.
The latest victim was a resident of Kakoliye slums in Moroto Municipality, who was shot with an arrow on the eve of Independence Day. He was admitted at Moroto Hospital in critical condition.
The Karamoja Police spokesman for Karamoja, George Obia, said they would deploy heavily in the affected areas.
