EDITOR: On October 19 at around 8:00pm I went to Kabalagala Shell to refuel and also withdraw some money from the Centenary ATM. When my turn came to enter the ATM booth a decent-looking lady wearing a rosary came rushing to me. She greeted me as if we had met before. She said she wanted to talk to me after leaving the booth. At first I thought she wanted my assistance to operate the ATM.

But instead she talked as if she was seducing me since we were only two. Fortunately, my wife was in the car but unaware of what was happening to me. The smart lady wanted to trick me into donating to her sh10,000.

She said she had only sh10,000 in her account and was going to Mulago Heart Institute for "an emergency medical examination". It dawned on me that this woman wanted to con me! I apologised to her for my inability to help her because, I told her, the account was my wife's and she was in the car behind us.

I recalled IGP Kale Kayihura's warning to the public to beware of such tricks. Money is very scarce and people are trying to get it by all means! Be vigilant.
