A pastor of Christ the Way Church in Kinoni in Rwampara in Mbarara district has been arrested over defiling and impregnating one of his flock.

A pastor of Christ the Way Church in Kinoni in Rwampara in Mbarara district has been arrested over defiling and impregnating one of his flock.
The south-western regional Police spokesperson, Polly Namaye, on Monday identified the suspect as Kennedy Arinaitwe.
Arinaitwe allegedly defiled the 14-year-old pupil in her parents’ house in Mbarara district on April 14. Her mother had left her alone in the house in the evening to go to a nearby trading centre when the incident occurred.
“Arinaitwe allegedly tip-toed into the house, pulled down her dress and forced her into sex. When the girl tried to shout, he reportedly threatened to kill her and told her not to tell her parents if she still wanted to live,†Namaye said.
The victim told her parents about Arinaitwe after she was chased away from school when they found out that she was pregnant. A medical examination confirmed that the girl was eight months pregnant.
Arinaitwe said he was praying for the girl, but got tempted to have sex with her. “The suspect will be taken to court to face the law,†Namaye said.
