Ketra Namuddu and Rachael Kalulu were also found with a mineral water bottle containing a liquid that the Police suspected to be acid.

Namuddu is a resident of Luwero district, while Kalulu is from Jinja.

They had gone to court for hearing of another case in which they are accused of holding unlawful society with 31 others at the Electoral Commission head office in January.

Their leader, Ingrid Turinawe, said the mineral water bottle had office glue. She said the women had purchased it to pin their posters, since they intend to contest for councillorship in their respective districts.

She added that the two did not protest being checked and accused the Police of trumping up charges.
