WHEN the fire gutted one of the teachers’ quarters at Masaka SS on Monday, there was fear that the school would chicken out of hosting the National Schools’ Basketball Association (NASBA) championships next year.

However, NASBA boss Ahmed Tamale who is also a a staff at the school confirmed that the school will go on with preparations to host the event in May 2011 if the education and sports ministry gives them a green light.

“The fire was not that serious to hamper preparations to host the national schools’ basketball event. We are still going on to prepare,” Tamale said.

He added that work on the four all-weather courts is on and that by February next year they will be ready.
