PRISONS clawed back into the race to reclaim the Inter-Forces title that they lost to UPDF in 2008. The prisons team collected 100 in darts that ended yesterday in addition to edging Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) 2-1 in soccer at Namboole.

In soccer, Dickson Kigongo put the Prisons side on the victory path with a 43 minute strike before Geoffrey Kasule scored the winner in the dying minutes of the game. Abbey Kamada had equalised for UWA at the start of the second half.

The Prisons women handball side routed UWA 50-7 later in the day.

The Luzira side also topped the athletics event with a total of 354 points. Defending champions UPDF won the shooting range challenge at Kigo with 1790 points and also led the volleyball race with six points.

The stiff race now stands between Prisons and UPDF as they both aim to win at least two of the final events soccer, netball and handball today at Namboole.
