NORTH American Boxing Association middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream” Ouma has been ranked number 11 in the latest WBA ratings in the middleweight division.

This came after he claimed the vacant NABA title with a solid performance over American Joey Gilbert. The Ugandan prize fighter’s promoter, Let’s Get it On Promotions, have vowed to land the former IBF light middleweight champion a world title fight next year.

“My team is in negotiations for me to fight German WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm, but at the same time I will also have to defend my crown,” Ouma said recently. “My goal is to return to the top of world boxing once again.”

The Los Angeles based boxer is seeking to become the first Ugandan to fight in two different weight divisions for a world title.

If he accomplishes the feat he will join a class of fighters who achieved such status. They include legendary Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Pernell Whitaker among others.
