THE foreign affairs minister, Sam Kuteesa, has said that the discovery of oil reserves in Uganda is a blessing not a curse, as some people think.

Addressing a prayer breakfast meeting organized by the Robert Kayanja ministries at Lugogo cicket ground on Sunday, Kuteesa said the country would use all the revenue from oil to build roads, boost agriculture and develop the human resources of the country.

The occasion was attended by the Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, Uganda’s Consulate to Pakistan Boney Katatumba, international preachers from the United States and members of Parliament, among others.

Kuteesa praised the ministries for the moral and spiritual support they are instilling in Ugandans.

“A country is as strong or weak as its moral fabric.

We must therefore thank Pastor Kayanja and all other pastors who are rebuilding the country’s moral fabric,” he said.

He called upon the other people serving in different capacities to emulate people like Kayanja, serving the country in different ways, adding that the country must give pride to people who preach the word of God.

Archbishop Sentamu called on Christians to be generous towards the work of the church.

“We should have the desire to share our goods. God gives us and we don’t want to give I pray that God lengthens Ugandans’ arms to be able to give,” Sentamu said.

Sentamu said the country was looking for people who are working with God to heal and to cast out demons.

Pastor Kayanja, who was accompanied by his wife Jessica, told the congregation that everybody in this world would be accountable for their actions..
