DEMOCRATIC Party (DP) presidential Candidate, Norbert Mao has scoffed at Inter Party Cooperation (IPC) presidential Candidate and FDC president Kizza Besigye’s remarks about treating President Museveni during the 1980’s bush war.

It is alleged that Besigye told supporters during his campaigns in Kitgum district that he regretted treating President Museveni.

Mao told the staff of Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital yesterday that the remarks were unprofessional.

“The Uganda Medical Counsil may have to investigate whether they agree with Besigye’s remarks. A doctor treats patients, some are criminals but you don’t ask them why they have come for treatment,” Mao added.

He told the hospital’s administrator Alex Mugisha that he had visited to see the the effects of Government’s neglect to the medical profession, pledging to increase the of health budget to 15%.

Mao was shocked to see patients sleeping on the floor, and attacked Museveni for failing to prioritise health.

He added that Uganda had the means to meet the demands of everybody if it could have two presidential jets.

Mugisha said they had a challenge of congestion because of negligence.

Mao also addressed a rally at Independence Park in Mbarara town.
