THE executive director of Central Broadcasting Service (CBS), Godfrey Kaaya Kavuma, on Friday said the FM station would continue broadcasting Mambobaado programme every Saturday, adding that they were not breaking any law.
Kavuma said he was perturbed by the directive of the information minister, Basoga Nsadhu, for the closure of the popular radio talkshows commonly known as Ebimeeza.
The programmes that involve hundreds of people debating live, are aired on CBS, Radio One, Radio Simba and Buddu FM.
Basoga recently cautioned FM stations against defying the Government directive by broadcasting the programmes outside the studios.
But Kavuma said CBS has since the first warning, ceased operating outside its studios.
“Every Saturday, we invite people to our studios to air out their views,” Kavuma said, adding, “we are not contravening any law and we shall continue to host the programme.”Ends
