ONE year after it opened, Appliance World, a local household items dealer, on Saturday celebrated with a grand draw and prizes worth sh10m to lucky customers.

Harsha Chandaran, the company’s managing director, said the draw was a way to show appreciation to customers, and also attract more business.

“We thought of the need to give our customers a token of appreciation for their loyal support,” he said.

Swaleh Senteza won the first price, an air ticket for two to Dubai, worth $2,050, courtesy of Africa One airline.

Channan Agricultural Company won the second and third prizes of a 350 litre LG refrigerator and a weekend for two at the Speke Resort Munyonyo.

Chatthe Rupinder, who represented the company said, “I can’t believe this, because when we bought the things, we were given the raffle tickets, but didn’t know we would win anything,” she said, beaming with a smile.

Chandaran said the prizes would help them compete in the stiff electronics market.

Africa One, MTN Uganda, Speke Resort Munyono, Kabira Country Club co-sponsored the draw that had over 3500 entries. For every sh50,000 purchase, the buyer was entitled to a raffle ticket.

Appliance World is situated on Jinja Road.
