SOROTI — The Uganda Red Cross Society, Soroti branch has donated mosquito nets, bed sheets, food, saucepans and clothes to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) living with HIV/AIDS in Kapelybong, Katakwi district. Robert Okila, a field officer, said Red Cross would visit the IDPs every fortnight for five years.

JINJA — Kagoma county MP Dr Frank Nabwiso has urged the Ugandan health sector to emulate Kenyans and form a vibrant cooperative society to improve the livelihood of health workers. He said this at a recent party for Jinja hospital medical staff.

Free operation
KIBULI — Kibuli Hospital is performing free eye operations for children 16 and years and below. The hospital’s eye specialist, Dr. Edrissa Mugawe, said the exercise begun on January 8 and will run for six months.
