THE Reform Agenda (RA), a political pressure group led by self-exiled Dr. Kizza Besigye, is ready to meet President Yoweri Museveni to discuss their differences, reports Milton Olupot.
RA secretary general Geoffrey Ekanya and James Garuga Musinguzi, a political arch rival to defence minister Amama Mbabazi, yesterday said they were ready to visit the State House for dialogue.
Museveni last Tuesday asked Musinguzi to meet him at an appropriate time to discuss the grievances of the reformists.
Musinguzi and Ekanya said this yesterday at a weekly press briefing at the RA office in Bukoto.
Musinguzi who pulled out of the Kinkizi West by-election recently, denied abandoning the RA and rejoining the Movement.
Last week, Museveni hosted a dinner for Kinkizi West political heavy weights including Musinguzi at State House Nakasero. State House later issued a press release saying the two had reconciled.
Musinguzi, however, said he still had differences with Mbabazi but conceded that the reconciliation process was on.
He also dismissed rumours that he had been bribed out of the RA.
“Reports that I have abandoned RA and crossed back to the Movement are deliberate falsehoods intended to antagonise me and the people of Kinkizi West.
I assure all Ugandans that no misinformation will stop me from actively pursuing RA ideals.
Musinguzi dismissed rumours that there was rebel recruitment in Kinkizi.
