On Saturday at 1:30p.m, Ankole Prince John Barigye gave away his daughter Princess Caroline Keza Barigye to her Irish husband Eamonn Ryan at a well attended ceremony at Rubaga Cathedral.

Ryan, his best man Conor Ryan and the five Irish grooms men were smashing in their similar attire-ebony black dress coat worn over a predominantly black trouser with stripes for the outside with a short light grey tie and waistcoat worn over the white shirt inside.

On her part, Princess Keza Barigye, was glorious, svelte and very chic in her sequin simple but sexy beautiful white satin bridal dress with a pearled choker for her neck. Her maid of honour, Isabelle Kalisa, dressed in a purple gown, the flower girl Eliza Karangwa and page boy Wamala Namara Barigye and the six bridesmaids were chic in the designs which were Keza Barigye’s idea and tailored by Italian based designer Spiro Bi Villioti.

At 2:00p.m Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala pronounced the two, husband and wife at a ceremony that was witnessed by President Yoweri Museveni, his wife Janet and daughter Natasha Karugire, royals Queen Sylvia Nagginda, the Omukama of Toro Oyo Nyimba and Mother Best Kemigisa, Bunyoro Solomon Gafabusa, the Kyabazinga of Busoga Wako Muloki and wife and other notable members of society.

The bride and groom did not kiss after they were pronounced husband and wife, they hugged. However, they made up for it at the reception.

After the wedding that attracted a large crowd of onlookers, Ryan and Keza Barigye hosted their guests to a lavish candle lit dinner at the lake view side of Speke Resort Munyonyo. Guests enjoyed the sumptuous dinner served with plenty of drinks.

After speeches from family members, wife and husband cut and served their guests with the wedding cake, prepared by Margaret Kiggundu (the lady who baked Kabaka Mutebi and Lady Sylvia Nagginda’s wedding cake). It had six tiers with a pair of doves symbol at its top. According to the Irish wedding tradition, doves bring good fortune to the newly weds.

The couple were happy and the event lasted till past midnight.
