THIRTY-seven coaches, teachers and trainers from all over the country are attending a football course to attain a B-license in coaching at Lugogo stadium, reports Phillip Corry.
The course that opened on Sunday is being conducted by Guenter Zittel, FUFA technical advisor and German-Uganda football development project director.
“The course is on an examination basis and has attracted only those who attended and passed the last two courses,” Zittel said.
Participants will qualify for a B license which will enable them train youth sides, according to Zittel.
Sports state minister Okello Oryem and the German ambassador Klaus Holderbaum are expected to close the course on Saturday..
Topics being taught include technique practice, principles of training, football tactics, psychology, first aid and laws of the game. “I am pleased FUFA, NCS, UFCA are all involved in the course and that is good for the development of sports,” Zittel added.
Participants have come from as far as Kisoro, Masaka, Mpigi, Mukono, Gulu, Lira and Arua.
