PADDY Blick, 54, will return from retirement to grace the Team Blick fundraising sprint at Garuga double track circuit tomorrow.

Overjoyed by the turnout by fellow drivers to support Arthur Blick and his cousin William Blick, Paddy announced his participation in the race that has attracted 22 drivers.

“Daddy has just surprised us, he has joined the sprint to show his skills,” William told The New Vision yesterday.

Paddy, who last competed in 1996 in a Nissan PA 10, will drive William’s Mitsubishi Evo that he used to drive before he acquired the Mitsubishi Evo2. Paddy, also a former motorcycle champion, is Federation of Motor sport Clubs of Uganda vice president (in-charge technical matters).

Top drivers Emma Katto, Moses Lumala, Charles Muhangi, Kuku Ranjit and Dipu Ruparelia are also in the race.

The non-championship sprint will run together with the Yamaha Motor cross championship at the same venue.

Twenty-three riders have so far confirmed participation in the opening round of the 2002 National Motorcycle championship.

National Motorcycle champion Abed Lubambula will unleash his sh11.1m Yamaha YZ he acquired from Japan recently.
